"Baby" Room

So I've had questions about the "Baby" room. haha. I call it that because it was baby Ella's bedroom and because its the smallest room in the house. Here are some picturess of it:

I'm planning on painting the room a pale robin's egg blue and painting a mural like this one...

instead of the monkey, I'll be painting finch birds kind of like these:

New House Progress In Pictures

Note: Please excuse the quality of pictures. My digital camera is dead- permanently. My mobile pictures will have to do.

This is the living room. I bought a new couch and loveseat! Chocolate brown! :)

This is the study/second living room. The old green leather couch is in here.

This is the hallway. I have pictures hanging of friends and family over the past few years. (there are plenty of beach projects pictures)

This is the kitchen.

I haven't even touch the stuff in the smallest bedroom. I'm going to use this room as a third bedroom. I had originally planned to make the "dining room"/ my study and second living room into a bedroom... but I'm going to wait it out... and make a decision later. So, for now the third bedroom will progressively be a bedroom instead of my 'dressing room'.

This is MY bathroom... the master bathroom. I painted it "universal Umber" it is a brown... it looks like chocolate cake batter. LOL. I tried to paint stripes of the same color... but one a high gloss sheen... and the other an eggshell shine. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, so I'll try again next weekend.

And the last pictures are to show that I have very little time... and motivation (lol) to unpack. hahahaaa....

Consider it SOLD...

So after four months, the condo is under contract and just waiting on a closing date at this point. I had been praying in the beginning that He would sell it quickly. I prayed specifically for two weeks because I knew the process could take long and that Chip and Shelley wanted to start the Spring semester at LSU and not be in Hammond still. As you know from other posts, the fall semester was LONG and filled with so much. I had 2 surgeries, one of my feet and one was emergency surgery on my stomach. Academically, I was struggling because I missed a lot. Financially, I was struggling because I missed a lot of work. Spiritually, I was struggling because I was ill and wanted to be in control. Of course, the Lord wanted me to continue to lean on Him and trust Him. I was wanting to 'lean on my own understanding'. So... the Lord knew the timing was more suitable for when everything actually happened. It started on December 29th and we had a contract on the 31st. So here are the pictures of the condo...

and the new house...

December is a crazy one...

This month has been a crazy one. As many of you know... a crazy snow day hit southeast Louisiana. There was nearly 8 inches of snow in Hammond! It caused the finals to be rescheduled.

I finally finished my semester. It was a hard semester. I dropped 7 hours, taking me down to 12. After multiple surgeries and involvement in an investigation, I'm glad that my grades weren't as bad as they could have been. I ended the semester with a 2.0, which isn't good for me... but it definately is better than I thought. lol.

Since school has been out, I've been traveling between Lacombe, Slidell, and Marrero to be with family. I think I'm just going to go home Friday night or Saturday... Home Sweet Home. :) Hammond.

So... life is going well. The Lord has blessed me tremendously and I can't wait to see what next year will hold. :)

what a craaazy week

So my story begins on Wednesday of last week, October 29 at 530am. I wake up with so much pain that I thought my left lung had collapsed. I called my mother scared. I'm not really sure why I called because I knew she couldn't do anything being an hour away... but I guess I felt like I needed to let someone know that I was in pain in case I died? lol.... I'm not sure. So, she suggested a breathing treatment since it is changing seasons and I have asthma that flairs up between seasons. The breathing treatment didn't work. Because North Oaks Hospital is infamous for sending people home with no real diagnosis... I didn't want to go, pay $100 that I don't have and be told its a cold. lol. I went to the infirmary at school, which is FREE. Ms. Vera (the doctor) said it was an inflammed chest wall which causes a lot of pain and that I should rest and take motrin every 4-6 hours and it should go away that night. I did as instructed but I woke the next morning with no relief and in MORE pain. I went back to see Ms. Vera and she suggested that I go see my stomach doctor. I called and they said to come right away. I get there and see the NP. She speaks with my surgeon and he says he need to admit me right away! They were going to call an ambulance... but since I was in Covington and I needed to get to Slidell... I just drove. I called my mom on the way and she met me there. Meanwhile, every time I move or breathe I have sharp pains... and dull pains when I am perfectly still. I was admitted into the hospital (which isn't covered by my insurance because it is complications from an elective procedure). I was extremely dehydrated because I haven't really eaten or drank anything since Tuesday night. Every vein they tried burst. :( I have like 10 different bruises from where they tried. I had three doctors and two nurses surrounding me questioning about my symptoms, types of pains, location... etc. 30 minutes later... Dr. Thomas was discussing me what was going to happen. They went in down my throat with a scope to see if they could see the band. If they could that meant that it went through my stomach wall... which obviously isn't good. He assured me that whatever it was... that they were going to fix it, but if it was anything with the uterus or ovaries they would have to call a specialist. I lost it then... so many thoughts ran through my head. What if it was that??? I'm not going to have children.... blah blah blah. He then explained that he was going to use the same incisions as last time so I wouldn't have any more scars (which they stuck to... except I gained one).

The result:

No more lapband. There was a reallyyy bad infection. He thinks a verryyyy small hole caused the stomach to leak bacteria into other parts of my body causing an infection. The hole is from the band. My body rejected it and didn't like it causing irritation... thus the ulcer/hole.

So, I'm out of the hospital now... on antibiotics, finally off pain medications, and feeling sooo much better.
