My two projects this week...

Ezer is the greek word for "Helper". It is referred to as a woman when mentioned in the bible. In Genesis 2:20, God says that it is not suitable for man to be only, so he created a helper for him. When looked up in the biblical concordance ezer is helper, counterpart, ally, support, strength. I think this word in its entirety speaks to the core of feminity and its biblical role.

I made this with a frame (that the glass broke out of), two pieces of fabric that I hot glued on the frame, and wooden letters that I spray painted. I really like how it turned out.

I just looked at it and laughed...

so of course... i have to end a project with some kind of chaos. so, the ladder got caught on the contractor's paper while i was moving the ladder and i had the paint pan attached to it... and it fell. It hit the ground, splattered the closet and the baseboards and I just looked at it and laughed. forunately, only a little paint went on the hardwood floors and i got it up quickly. I saw that so much was wasted that I decided to take it off the floor and put it on the wall... here are the pictures.

Progress...

Yesterday I started painting the little room. I hope to be finished before next weekend rolls around. The mural will take time... but since I have one final left... I think I can handle it. buuuutttt.... I am working nearly 40 hours this coming week, so we shall see. So far, so good. :)

"Baby" Room

So I've had questions about the "Baby" room. haha. I call it that because it was baby Ella's bedroom and because its the smallest room in the house. Here are some picturess of it:

I'm planning on painting the room a pale robin's egg blue and painting a mural like this one...

instead of the monkey, I'll be painting finch birds kind of like these:

New House Progress In Pictures

Note: Please excuse the quality of pictures. My digital camera is dead- permanently. My mobile pictures will have to do.

This is the living room. I bought a new couch and loveseat! Chocolate brown! :)

This is the study/second living room. The old green leather couch is in here.

This is the hallway. I have pictures hanging of friends and family over the past few years. (there are plenty of beach projects pictures)

This is the kitchen.

I haven't even touch the stuff in the smallest bedroom. I'm going to use this room as a third bedroom. I had originally planned to make the "dining room"/ my study and second living room into a bedroom... but I'm going to wait it out... and make a decision later. So, for now the third bedroom will progressively be a bedroom instead of my 'dressing room'.

This is MY bathroom... the master bathroom. I painted it "universal Umber" it is a brown... it looks like chocolate cake batter. LOL. I tried to paint stripes of the same color... but one a high gloss sheen... and the other an eggshell shine. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, so I'll try again next weekend.

And the last pictures are to show that I have very little time... and motivation (lol) to unpack. hahahaaa....

Consider it SOLD...

So after four months, the condo is under contract and just waiting on a closing date at this point. I had been praying in the beginning that He would sell it quickly. I prayed specifically for two weeks because I knew the process could take long and that Chip and Shelley wanted to start the Spring semester at LSU and not be in Hammond still. As you know from other posts, the fall semester was LONG and filled with so much. I had 2 surgeries, one of my feet and one was emergency surgery on my stomach. Academically, I was struggling because I missed a lot. Financially, I was struggling because I missed a lot of work. Spiritually, I was struggling because I was ill and wanted to be in control. Of course, the Lord wanted me to continue to lean on Him and trust Him. I was wanting to 'lean on my own understanding'. So... the Lord knew the timing was more suitable for when everything actually happened. It started on December 29th and we had a contract on the 31st. So here are the pictures of the condo...

and the new house...
